
I didn’t know a lot about the band going into the shoot other than the fact that they are a NINE-PIECE BAND. Actually, they probably told me a lot about the band but that was all my feeble little photographer brain heard: “Nine? Oh crap. How in the living hell am I gonna light NINE guys?”.

The floor of the venue was a sea of bouncing, weaving, swaying teens and twenty-somethings until the very last note.
As a music photographer, I am often presented with stage lighting that presents a bit of a challenge. It comes with the territory and usually my experience and technique will save me, but sometimes I survey the stage plot before a band’s set and go “uh-oh”. Such was the case with the headliners on this night.
These young guns have descended from the Great White North in support of a debut album on Roadrunner that is bound to generate some serious buzz among alt-rock stations and metalheads alike.

How can you not love a band fronted by a singer that introduces himself as Elvis Presley then wades through the crowd in an all-white outfit without missing a note?
