This week I had the honor of coordinating the St. Louis stop on the 2010 OneLight Workshop tour. This successful (or would that be sucksessful?) workshop is hosted Zack Arias, a talented photographer and educator from Atlanta. The basic premise behind Zack’s workshop is that you don’t need a zillion dollars worth of equipment to make a great photo; in fact you can create compelling images with a single light. Hence the whole “OneLight” thing. Duh.
NYC indie folk darlings The Spring Standards performed in support of Wakey Wakey and made a lot of new fans in the process. Their impeccable vocal harmonies and eclectic instrumentation made for a quirky yet fun set which included a stellar version of Neil Young’s “Helpless”. Fans of the TV show One Tree Hill will recognize Wakey Wakey piano man Mike Grubbs, and he was just as comfortable in front of my camera as the ones he typically performs for. The band delivered a fun and friendly set in front of a nearly packed house at Off Broadway.
