Best known for his brilliant work with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and his stellar collaboration with his late brother Stevie Ray, guitarist Jimmie Vaughan packed his 5-piece backing band onto the outdoor stage at Beale on Broadway last night in front of a packed house. In fact, the venue was so full that a large crowd of spectators chose to hang out in the adjacent parking lot to watch the show. It gave the entire event a sort of block party vibe that was very cool. And what a show! Even at age 59 Jimmie is a fire-breathing guitar slinger and it’s clear that he’s still having a blast. I can only hope to be so lucky.

  2. Dear Corey,
Hopefully you can answer this question for me. Does Jimmie Vaughan sign autographs after his shows ? I have a copy of the Book “Rock n Roll and the Cleveland Connection” that I’ve been getting autographs in. I have 692 signatures so far (since 3-11-02) and would be honored to have him sign. The Fabulous T-Birds have a mention on page # 593. Thanks in advance. John

  3. Hi John,

I can only speak from last night’s experience but Jimmie was most gracious in spending time signing stuff after the show.

    Thanks for the note.
