This blog post has a very specific target audience. It pertains only to those of you near my base of operations, St. Louis, Missouri. So that’s about 2.4 million folks. Of course not all of them read this little blog, and I’m guessing that only a handful of my readers will be interested in hearing me make a presentation, let alone being forced to occupy the airspace with me at an event. By my calculations, that narrows things down to one person.
Which reminds me, hi mom.
That said, if you have an interest in my work or in photography in general, here are three opportunities to come see me talk about such things. Or heckle me relentlessly. Whatever.
Pecha Kucha Night #9
I’ve been invited to present my Woody Guthrie photo project at the 9th Volume of St. Louis’ Pecha Kucha night on July 12th. PK Night always includes a unique array of presenters and attracts a ton of creative folks from throughout the region. Needless to say, it should be interesting. It’s a FREE event too.

New Years Rulin’s – A Tribute To Woody Guthrie In Photos And Music
This is the culmination of The Big Personal Project I have been working on since the beginning of the year. It’s a one night exhibition of my Woody Guthrie-inspired photo project as well as a concert featuring three acts influenced by Guthrie’s music. The FREE 32 image photo exhibit will open at 6pm, while the music venue opens at 8pm with Cassie Morgan taking the stage at 9pm. Ryan Spearman follows at 10 with a closing set by Mark Bilyeu (of Big Smith fame) at 11pm. It should be a great birthday celebration for Woody, who would have turned 100-years-old the following day.

Food Media Forum
Organized by my colleagues at Feast Magazine, this two-day food writing and food media workshop features presentations by a number of local writers and photographers, including yours truly. I will be speaking on Sunday morning alongside fellow food shooters Jon Gayman, Jennifer Silverberg, and Jonathan Pollack. My presentation will focus on editing and post-production work while others will cover subjects including lighting, composition and camera settings. It should be a lot of fun and very informative. For more info, visit FoodMediaForum.com.
July 28/29, 2012 at Moulin Events, 2017 Chouteau Avenue St. Louis, MO 63103
I hope to see you at one (or all three!) events.
